Nicholas is a seasoned user experience leader with more than eight years of expertise in creating highly-effective user experiences. He is currently User Experience (UX) Manager at Orion Health. Previously he served as User Experience and Product Strategy lead at Genospace, where he applied User-Centered Design as the driving force behind organizational strategy and execution. He has served as VP, Creative at Capy Inc., Co-founder & UX/UI Lead at RunTroll, Design & Data Visualization at Intel Health and Life Sciences – UK Innovation Team, and User Researcher at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. He is also an alumnus of Microsoft Ventures, founder and former President of EIT Digital Alumni, and a member of the organizations UXPA and Interaction Design Foundation. He also holds a dual MS in ICT Innovation from University College London and Royal Institute of Technology. User Experience (UX) Manager - New Zealand

Nicholas leads a team across the APAC region tackling problems and building solutions in precision medicine, data integration/management, patient/clinical portals, clinical workflow management and business intelligence solutions.


User Experience & Product Strategy at Genospace - USA

Nicholas was the User Experience team lead and Product Strategist at Genospace, where he analyzed the needs and pain points within the healthcare industry to find product/market fit. He brought innovation and value to the Genospace platform, a portfolio of products that improve patient outcomes by giving users instant access to analytics and data insights, serving oncologists, pathologists, data scientists, caregivers, and patients in the world of precision medicine. Nicholas also ran a full-scale corporate rebranding initiative, leading to better brand recognition, visibility, and awareness.


VP, Creative at Capy Inc. - Japan

Nicholas developed B2B security products that serve some of the biggest gaming and credit card giants in Japan. He also became a Microsoft Ventures Alumnus and pitched to investors at the MSV Demo Day in Tel Aviv, Israel for Series B funding.


Data Visualization & Design at Intel - UK

Nicholas was part of the Intel Health and Life Sciences - UK Innovation Team based in Imperial College London where he used data visualization and design to create complex data systems in the fields of genetics, robotic surgery, bio-banking, and EMR integration. Authored Intel White Paper 'Enhancing Medical Decision-Making Through Visualization'.


Co-founder & UX/UI Lead at RunTroll - Sweden

In 2013 Nicholas co-founded RunTroll, a multiplayer running app that matches people from around the world in marathon style distributed running events. Recipient of UCL Entrepreneurs VC Fund.


User Researcher (contract) at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe - UK

Nicholas ran usability testing & observation sessions at SCEE for next-generation games studies on titles such as Killzone Shadow Fall (PS4) & DriveClub (PS4).

Leadership, Awards, Membership & Volunteering

Nicholas is the former President and founder of EIT Digital Alumni foundation and former Advisory Board Member of NACUE. He is also the recipient of the UCLe startup pitch 1st prize judged by Airbnb Co-founder and CTO, Nathan Blecharczyk and STING Stockholm Innovation & Growth startup award. He is a member of Interaction Design Foundation and UXPA, two of the worlds leading user experience organizations. He has also volunteered at a number of events including ACM CHI, the top conference for Human-Computer Interaction, and Web Summit, a technology conference with over 50,000 attendees.

Publication: Crisis Innovation after the Fukushima Nuclear Crisis, Proceedings 11th International Open and User Innovation Workshop

Nicholas authored a paper on open source hardware & data in crises, which is a case study on Safecast, an open radiation monitoring platform that was developed after the Fukushima Nuclear Disaster. Presented to around 200 researchers from a range of disciplines including innovation management, strategic management, and entrepreneurship.
